CHARACTER
Name: Rose Lalonde
Age: 13
Canon: Homestuck
Canon Point: Right before Dave travels back in time and she ceases to exist.
History: Homestuck Wikia and Rose's article

However, this Rose's history differs in main Rose's history. In this timeline, John had listened to Terezi and used the jetpack to shoot himself to the final gate to meet his denizen. What no one expected, was that the denizen would be awake, killing John. Because John dies, no one was able to get Jade into the Medium since John was Jade's Server Player. This basically causes Rose and Dave's session to be a failure. Figuring out that they cannot win without a heir or witch, they spend the next four months wandering the session to figure out as much as they can before Dave goes back in time.

Dave makes the mistake of prototyping his sprite with Lil' Cal, and decides then that he would be returning to the past to stop John. They speak for a moment before Rose says her goodbyes. She then cease to exist, along with the timeline. Instead, she eventually becomes Rose's past dreamself, waking up.

Personality:
Rose is different from what you would aspect from an average girl. While she still uses the internet at probably unholy times and makes friends through it, she acts far beyond her actual age. She is verbose, never to use abbreviations such as "lol" or "omg" and uses full punctuation and capitalization. It might stem from her love for literature and the fact that she indulges in writing her own telltale fiction of wizards and the occult genre. She is also interested in psychology and psychoanalysis, always psychoanalyzing her friends (although Dave usually is the victim of her attempts) and always seemingly analytical towards everything her searching eyes land on. She is fairly intelligent in every regard, able to deduce things with information she is given. And her deductions are fairly accurate, although she is prone to mistakes like everyone else is. She may seemingly be ahead of everyone else, but she is still young.

Rose will admit to mistakes though. When she makes some, she will apologize for them, although that doesn't particularly mean she isn't stubborn. She surely is, and will go as far as she can with what she's doing until it is time to admit that they were wrong or that what she did was a mistake.

She is all about control and appearance. Rose does everything in her power to come off how she wants to be. In control, articulate, intelligent. She does nothing but to make sure none of her weaknesses show and only comes off as how she wants one to see her as. She is obsessed with having control, and becomes stressed when she loses it. One can see that as when she has Dave as her Server Player, not being able to do things, but wait for Dave.

It's also because of her nature that she holds all her friends art arm's length. Hiding behind finely constructed walls, Rose's conversations with even her friends may come off as cold and clinical, only saying just enough to get her point across, while avoiding any emotional distress or attachment in anyway. Of course her friends stick around her and probably view it as just how she is, but it's her way of keeping herself guarded. She is fairly cynical, brushing off endearing signs of affection as nothing more then false. Her need for keeping everything about her private, unfortunately makes it fairly easy for her to do this. Even when she speaks of her mother, she only proceeds to complain about her mother. It isn't to say she hates her mother, as she loves her dearly. But she only sees her mother's actions as passive-aggressive jabs at her, and lies no sincere feelings in the gesture. Despite that, Rose's feelings for her mother are genuine. She merely acts like the typical teenager, who does nothing but try to hate their parents while going through their nefarious, rebellious stage.

While Rose may seem heartless or cold, it is far from that. She cares deeply for those who have become close to her. It may not seem like it, but she has shown her concern in more ways then one. While her words do not seem loving, her actions make up for it. When her mother is killed, she does nothing but seek revenge, even going Grimmdark because of it. She attacks Bec Noir when he kills John in front of her, but having a look of sympathy just before when John mourns over his father's death. She would not even agree to Dave going on the suicide mission, knocking him out with a ball of yarn then departing on her own (which later is foiled as he goes after her). While she struggles to let them into her more private life, she still shows her concern and affections in other ways.

Like her name though, every rose has its thorns. And she has a fair amount of her own. Rose is dangerous as she is verbose. With a cold and calculated demeanor, she wreaks havoc in a way that would surprise anyone. She refuses to go down without a fight. She's downright terrifying when she wishes to be. When she is told of her session ultimately being doomed, Rose goes on a rampage on her planet, destroying everything in her wake. It's enough to make Aradia actually contact her to tell her to stop. She takes down ogres with nothing but her knitting needles, and eventually becoming even more terrifying when she alchemizes her magic wands. Because of her attitude, she has the tendency to jump into things that go way above her head.

Abilities/Strengths:
Rose is an avid reader and fairly good at knitting. She is also fairly smart for her age, making her a pretty strong strategist. Although she is not made of muscles or burly in any way, she's graceful and can hold her own. She is also fairly dangerous, being rather destructive when she wants to be. Her primary weapon choice are needles, and later, wands. in which she can actively use as melee weapons.

Rose is the Seer of Light. Because of that, she does have seer powers in which she can see things others cannot. She also can get glimpses of the near or far future, although she is not a fully realized seer. That being said, she doesn't have complete control of her powers nor can she always see what she wants to see. But she is actually strong in the world of majykks. She later can use her needle-like wands to shoot energy and magic out of, making her fairly dangerous in offensive magic.

Weaknesses:
Rose let's no one in. To some extent, you will get to know her, but she won't let you in. She hates for people to worry about her and works on her own agenda. She hides behind pretty words and longwinded phrases. She makes sure nothing personal about her truly ever leaks out. She doesn't tend to speak about her private life, and only gives you the surface when she does.

She's also fairly stubborn and the type to go in over her head at times. She's independent, but almost to a fault at times.

She also struggles to see sincerity in even her friends, always thinking there's a motive underneath it all.

ARCANARUM
Story: Norse Mythology
Story Character: Odin
Plans: Carry on with life. She is pretty sure she will cease to exist, so really, this is just delaying the inevitable. She'll enjoy what she has though and it'll give her some sort of closure. It would be nice to see her move on from her bitter feelings towards her end. Rose's denizen lines up pretty well with herself in that a lot of what Odin stands for and is associated with would be something she would associate herself with. The differences lie that she isn't actually male. Also, she would never really consider marriage, much less having children at her age and given her fate. She also does not have the knowledge and wisdom and age that he has. But, while she would fit her role beautifully, she really isn't like her denizen, so having her grow and learn to fit it would be pretty cool.

SAMPLES
First Person:
This is a rather unexpected turn of events.
While I suppose I am thankful for arriving in this new abode, I must say that it was highly inconvenient. Now I will never quench my curiosity as to whether I will continue a bitter and saddening existence surrounded by adorable cohorts in which I live the rest of my life in solitude or whether I may just cease to exist completely. Surely you could have at least taken me after I stopped existing.
Ah, the contradicting words of that statement was almost laughable indeed.
Also, I am not exactly appreciative of my new garments. While they are quite comfortable, I was hoping for something a little more dark. Perhaps you could add a horrorterror or two onto the pattern. No? I suppose it was worth a shot.
Well, hello. I suppose I should at least introduce myself.
I'm not sure of which name, but I am sure I am Rose Lalonde. The fairytales they wish to weave are faulty. Honestly, you'd think all powerful beings would know how to stitch better.

Third Person:
Rose opened her eyes. Well. "Ah, and once again, I'm stuck having to deal with inconvenient detours," she says to no one but herself. She got to her feet, a fine eyebrow raised at her garments. These were clothes made for warriors. Warriors and men. She is neither. How peculiar already.

"Dave?" She looked around herself, taking in the new scenery before her. This isn't LOHAC. This isn't anywhere she recognizes either. It isn't LOWAS or LOLAR either. Ugh, this really is inconvenient. Did Dave go back in time then? Successfully? Maybe this is where people go when they stop existing. They just disappear into a new world in which they can live a new role. Rebirth. That would be romantic, but this was definitely hopeful thinking. She didn't do hopeful thinking or wishing of that caliber.

She chuckled lightly as she comes upon her communicator. What an obscene compact mirror. Surely it could come in purple or something a little less gaudy. She opened it. Oh. Well, now this is weird. When she expected a compact mirror, she didn't expect it to be a communicator. Well, it looks like she had another mystery to solve. How tedious. Perhaps the results of playing in her new setting will be more successful than her last one. "Hello? I'm sure someone can hear me through this device. I have a few questions in which I am sure one of you can answer."

Rose had gotten this far. She wasn't going to give up. Even if it meant solving this mystery and returning to emptiness. Dave would be disappointed in her. To just take this and accept it as her fate. She refused. She didn't want a fairytale ending. That wasn't her. And she sure didn't want to leave the Medium. There was something she could do back in their session. Doomed or not. This place was in her way and she'd take it down with her if she had to get back home.
